Bulbbul Web Series Reviews

Bulbbul on Netflix is a gripping tale of a woman wronged by a controlling, patriarchal society. Married into an affluent family as a child, to a man twice her age, Bulbbul is thrown into a conniving world of deceit, oppression, abandonment, and betrayal. #RahulBose #PaoliDam #Parambratachattopadhyay #AvinashTiwary give stunning performances, etching their roles in the viewers mind; but the one who towers over all of them is #TriptiDimri as ‘Bulbbul’; she is bewitching in every frame. Her world is battered , dripping of blood ; hence the scenes are brilliantly captured in shades of red by cinematographer #SiddharthDiwan.
If you think this is a horror film , let me tell you this horror is derived from the real world , one that we live in our everyday lives. This is a story about the ghosts hiding under our beds . A directorial debut by the talented writer , lyricist #AnvitaDutt, the narration is almost flawless. Though the end could have been better, one cannot overlook the fact that story has been woven all throughout around the age old beliefs with such intricacy, only to tear it apart ruthlessly in the end.The symbolism of woman as ‘plaything’ by toe rings, a puppet doll, is interspersed with such finesse, that it hits you hard.
For viewers who avoid horror films ( like me ) I would say, please go ahead and watch it. It will break the barriers of ‘supernatural’ in your mind . I promise, you will fall in love with this ‘Chudail’ and would want to hug her !
A must watch this weekend if you haven’t yet !
Happy viewing ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
Whenever I think of not watching hindi films because of its cliche stories and typical dance or songs in the middle of a scene, there comes a story which will again make you believe that bollywood can try making films like the regional cinemas. Bulbbul is like that fresh idea and concept which makes you glued to your couch despite the predictable end. It may have flaws & raise the eyebrows but the audience will definitely acknowledge the hard work of this debut director Anvita Dutt Guptan who also wrote this unique story which is inspired by the folk tales. The extraordinary production design, stunning visual effects, costume design and the cinematography are definitely one of the reasons to applaud at the end.
Easily one of the top three movies on Netflix. A very strong female lead oriented movie with conviction. The story/ screenplay is perfectly poised. 'No loose ends there. Director Anvita Dutt has made a perfect job. Not a moment'of boredom. Can't miss a moment. In many ways it reminds of the 2012 Amir/ Rani/ karina starter Talash Directed by Reema Kagti who had done an impressive job there. It's bit tough to make a successful movie out of , "The paranormal" activities. But Bulbul is 10000 times better and realistic than those horrendously stupid Nagin series'shown on small screens.
Bulbul realy takes you back to the old Bengali culture and reminded me at Times of the famous Gurudatt movie, Saheb Biwi aur Gulam as far as the background was concerned.
Tripti Dimri as Bulbul is absolutely astonishing. She looks so vulnerable. Perfectly suited for the lead character. Aptly supported by Rahul Bose. The music by Amit Trivedi was spell bounding.
Bulbul Could easily be listed amongst those unforgettable movies and so is Tripti Dimri.
Bulbbul doesn't surprises on story but the way it has been represented is mesmerizing. The shots nd cinematography is appreciable. Start to end , you quitely wait for whats gonna happen next. It's a complete package for story- feeders and horror - thriller club as well. The intriguing back - forth manner establishes the relations between the characters ,grasping the viewer about how would things would have changed. Movie has no jumpscares yet it bring the horrible acts that are inhumane. For the audience who love to watch the old bengal culture and folklores related to some hindu mythology , there's lot of relatable symbolisms and convictions of avenge. In acting sector, none of the characters disappoints us.
Feels so good to have watched a great movie after a really long time! Job well done with the cinematography, set and actors. Great way to put across a very strong message. Kudos to the casting person as well, something about the female lead (Trupti, her acting and the way she looks) was very mesmerising and twisted - perfectly captured the character perfectly. The story is so simple and that's why it didn't have too many weird arcs. Really enjoyed the movie since its very beginning!
Pretty confused why every 4/3 starrer rating doesn't say why it's not worth 5. But I think it was pretty great, I thoroughly enjoyed the lack of complicated plot.
It is the best Hindi movie which was directly released on Netflix. Terrific acting by every actor, especially Tripti Dimri. I hope to see her more in films.
A hard hitting social issue highlighted with the help of a folklore set in the 19th century Bengal. The narrative is realistic and mature. It belongs to a revenge drama genre, rather than horror. The writing of the film is remarkably done. Each and every character have their own shades to show and own ideology to follow. The performances were gold be it Rahul Bose in dual character, or Paoli Dam as a catalyst in every situation. But the show-stealer was Tripti Dimri. I personally loved it and will highly highly recommend it. Its a must must watch.
